5 Things I Want to Help My Audience With
I want every wife and mom to thrive within their home. No matter the stage of life they are in, what their budget is or little time they have, every mom can create a home that is a haven for her and her family. I know the struggle and burden that comes with feeling like your home is not a place where you love to be, and I want to help other moms avoid that same struggle. I want to help moms love their homes, build amazing relationships with their families, live creativity within their budgets and still have time and energy left to enjoy a warm beverage and hobby.
I used to roll my eyes at the term “homemaker” because it seemed so out of date and out of touch with what being a wife and mom was like in the 21st century. But what I ended up discovering is that my heart and passion actually is all wrapped up in MAKING my HOME somewhere that my family loves to be. So, I guess that makes me a homemaker after all! That does NOT mean that I spend most of my days ironing or making bread from scratch (I would seriously eat the entire loaf before it cooled off). It means that I spend time each day doing things to create an atmosphere of love, safety and comfort in my home. Doing small but intentional things to create a haven within our four walls. A place where we want to be, where we want to invite others into, and where we can spend time on the truly important business of building relationships.
I am a creative and silly mom who has been at this marriage thing for over 20 years. I have learned a lot from the school of hard knocks and have been able to use those experiences to hone my skills. I want to use those experiences to help other moms craft and create a home they love with the people they love, all while on a limited amount of time and money. More specifically, I want to…
1. Encourage Women to Create a Home That is a Haven
Haven: A shelter; a place of safety
Imagine your home feeling like that to all who walk through your door. The world can be harsh and exhausting, but coming home to a safe harbor can not only change your day, but it can change your life, your family and your legacy.
2. Share Ideas and Inspiration for a Hand Made Home
There is something special about hand made things, whether is it dinner, a gift, decor or clothes. Something that has been crafted with love is meaningful and a bit of a lost art. Personally, I get so much joy from creating beautiful or useful items and want to share that joy with others.
3. Provide Tips for Building Relationships in Your Home
The most important thing that happens in your home is the relationships that are built. I want to share our traditions, celebrations, date night ideas, family fun events and conversation starters. All of these things have helped to build and strengthen not only the relationships of my family of 4, but also the relationships I have with extended family, friends and neighbors.
4. Inspire Creativity for Living within a Budget
We have been a single income family for 9 years, and before that we were not rollin’ in the dough either. Simply put, we have always had to live on a budget and be creative with how to do things we love within our means. Just because we are on a budget doesn’t mean that we cant do things we want or have a home that we love. I want to inspire creativity in how you buy your clothes, food, daily products, home decor and entertainment. With a little out of the box thinking, you can have what you want without breaking the bank.
5. Build a Community of Moms Helping Moms Thrive at Home
Wouldn’t it be so amazing to have other women walking with you on this journey? I want to build a community that is encouraging, inspiring, full of joy and laughter and that celebrates together. Nothing is sweeter than friends who cheer each other on!
Lets go…
The best way to start creating a home that you love is to JUST START doing something! It doesn’t have to be big or grand, just start small. My hope is that this is a place that encourages, inspires and helps other moms on this same journey. Nothing is more important than what happens within the wall of your home, and the work we do there will impact generations.
